Conor Lyden of Trustap is the winner of LEO South Cork’s Best Start-Up Business in this year’s IBYE competition.
Trustap is a transaction platform that acts as a safety net for customers when they want to buy or sell anything online. Specifically designed to combat scams and fraud in transactions between two strangers, Trustap works like a personal escrow account. In each transaction, the funds are held during the delivery process, then once the item has been delivered and the buyer is satisfied or the 24-hour complaints period has elapsed, the funds are released to the seller.
We asked Conor how the IBYE process has helped him so far and here’s what he told us…
“So far, the whole IBYE experience has been thoroughly enjoyable, but also extremely beneficial, to both myself and my business. Aside from the obvious perks of the funding, the mentorship and all the business advice, I found that the process has really helped to raise the profile of my company and to have won a local IBYE award also serves as validation that the business is really progressing.
Being able to spend time around like-minded people and to have the opportunity to expand my business network has been a real bonus too and will no doubt be helpful in the years to come.”
Conor will now progress to the IBYE regional final which takes place on January 15th.
